Social Media & Website Manager
Payment
£150 per month (self-employed contractor) Fix Term 6 months
Hours
Approximately 10–12 hours per month
Flexible and can be done from home.
Purpose of the Role
To maintain Millgate’s online presence by updating the website and creating regular social media content that promotes our programmes, activities, and venue hire.
Main Responsibilities
Website Management (Monthly)
- Update the website montly, including:
- Events and activity schedules
- Venue hire information
- Policies, announcements, or news
- New photos, content, or community updates
- Events and activity schedules
- Ensure pages, links, and forms are working correctly.
- Keep design and branding consistent.
Social Media Management (Facebook)
- Create and schedule 3 Facebook posts per week.
- Promote:
- Weekly schedules
- Venue hire and room availability
- Special events or workshops
- Community stories, photos, or highlights
- Weekly schedules
- Keep tone friendly, accessible, and community-focused.
- Use simple design tools (e.g., Canva) to create graphics when needed.
Content Planning
- Plan posts in advance using a simple content calendar.
- Stay in touch with the Bookings Secretary about upcoming events.
- Collect photos, stories, or updates from groups (with consent).
Person Specification
Essential
- Confident using Facebook and scheduling tools
- Good written English
- Ability to update a simple website on WordPress (or willingness to learn)
- Organised, reliable, and good at planning content
- Creative eye for simple graphics (Canva or similar)
Desirable
- Experience managing social media for an organisation
- Basic photography or design skills
- Understanding of community or charity work
